13892151_122999581476056_4739687158224445806_n“Silent Morning” was released in December of 1987 and sold out in record stores the day of its release to the tune of 100,000 copies per week! It sold over 10,000 copies in the Philippines, It hit number five on Billboard’s dance charts and was number one on its sales chart. The first single by Noel was also on Billboards “Top 40” Dance Chart. “Silent Morning” spent fourteen weeks in the number twelve spot and climbed to the number two spot of Billboards Crossover chart. On Billboard’s Dance Club Play chart “Silent Morning” became number one and remained number one for nine weeks!!! Moreover, it was number eight for twelve weeks in New York’s and Miami’s Billboard top twelve 12″ Single Sales Chart. His single also debuted on the legendary Casey Kasem’s crossover top 40 countdown. “Silent Morning” made it’s debut on New York’s Radio station (WKTU) and instantly became the number one requested song for over a month after. That started a domino effect on many radio stations across the country and the world. The song was recognized with two New York Music Awards for Best Independent Single in 1987. The following year he won best Rising Star, on an independent record label in 1988. Noel also received a Boston Music Award in 1988 for Best song by a New Male Artist. Noel followed up his first hit with three other blockbuster songs, all of which climbed towards the top spots on Billboard and other Dance/pop charts all over the world. The follow up to “SILENT MORNING’S” success were “LIKE A CHILD,” which sold over 500,000 copies in it’s first week. “Like a Child” became a number one Dance Hit Crossover Single, number one Billboard Sales and number one Billboard Hot Dance Club Play for a total of 12 weeks! His third and fourth “OUT OF TIME” and “CHANGE.” hit the number one dance spots and sales on Bill Boards top 100. “Out of Time” became Billboard’s number one sales, number one dance and number one radio air play in 1989. “Change”, the fourth single, also hit the top of the charts and sold over a quarter of a million copies. Noel’s whirlwind success launched him into an extensive performance tour across the United States, Puerto Rico, Brazil and the United Kingdom. He appeared on various television shows, including Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, CNN Showbiz, Entertainment News, MTV Club, hosted Nickelodeon, and made an appearance on the Jenny Jones Morning Show. His music career lead him into other fields. In 1988, he appeared in a series of print advertisements for Amaretto Liquor in magazines like Time, Playboy, Vanity Fair, Spin magazine, Rolling Stone and a photo shoot for French Vogue. Finally, after previously serving as a presenter at the SKC New York Music Awards, the three-time nominee won this award for Best Vocalist in 1989. Noel’s most widely acclaimed single “Silent Morning” was featured in a movie, by the name of “American Splendor”. it was also the opening theme song for MTV’S hit show “CLUB MTV” for a few seasons. Noel’s music charted on radio stations around the world and brought a new level of success which separated him from other artist of the same genre. He has also hosted AIDS benefits where he shared the stage with the likes of Madonna, groups like The Black Crows, Grace Jones, Aha, Chuck Berry, Dead or Alive, Belinda Carlisle formerly of the Go-Go’s, New Order, Taylor Dane and Cyndi Lauper just to name a few. Noel continues to perform around the world and has been on stages such as Madison Square Garden in New York City, Taj Mahal in Atlantic City and the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut where he performed to sold out crowds. Noel released several albums: the first being self titled Noel (1988), Hearts on Fire (1993) which had a single that aired on an episode of the hit television series “Baywatch”. He was also featured on a single in 1990, called “COULD YOU HAVE THE HEART” released by a group called “THE GIRLS CLUB” It was a rerecording of an original previously released by the artist France Joli. The other in 1991 named “The Question” in collaboration with the singer writer producer Tony Moran. In 2001 he released a track called “WILL I FIND TRUE LOVE” WRITTEN BY HIM AND PRODUCED BY FORD. Finally after a long period he recorded “THIS MUST BE LOVE” written and produced by Noel and Rick Savage in 2012. He recently received a Lifetime achievement award from KTU 103.5 at the TAJ MAHAL.
